Dow Falls Over 150 Points; JM Smucker Shares Gain Following Upbeat Q1 Earnings
Dow Jones fell 150 points, NASDAQ declined 0.27%, and S&P 500 dropped 0.07%. Industrials shares jumped 1% while consumer discretionary stocks fell 0.7%. J.M. Smucker Co reported better-than-expected earnings and raised FY27 guidance. Equities mostly up in Asia and Europe.
The overall market went down a little bit today, but J.M. Smucker did really well because their business made more money than people thought it would. When a company beats expectations, that's a sign investors think it's doing something right.
